A motivational talk works best when it is matched to the right moment. Based in London and speaking at schools, colleges, community groups and organisations across the UK, I tailor every talk to the audience in front of me and the occasion that has brought them together. Here are the events I’m most often invited to speak at, and the topics that tend to work best for each.
Events I speak at
Welcome assemblies and the start of term
A new school year is the perfect time to set the tone. A talk on self-belief, accountability and goal setting helps students start the year with energy and clear intentions.
Year 6 to Year 7 transition
Moving up to secondary school is a big step. Sessions on friendship groups, confidence and dealing with change help young people settle in and make positive choices from day one.
Mental Health Awareness Week
I speak openly about my own experiences to help students and staff understand that it is okay not to be okay, how to look after their wellbeing and where to turn for support.
Anti-Bullying Week
Talks on respect, empathy, peer pressure and standing up for others encourage students to think about how their behaviour affects the people around them.
Careers days and enterprise events
Sharing my own journey, I help students see that their background does not decide their future, and that hard work, resilience and ambition open doors.
Exam preparation and revision season
Ahead of mocks, GCSEs and A-Levels, I focus on motivation, staying focused, limiting distractions and practical revision habits that reduce stress and build confidence.
Black History Month
October talks celebrate heritage, identity and achievement, inspiring young people to take pride in who they are and aim high.
Prize-giving, leavers’ and graduation events
A closing talk on perseverance and the importance of working hard sends students into their next chapter with purpose.
Community, youth and corporate events
Beyond schools, I speak to youth clubs, charities, sports teams and businesses about mindset, teamwork, overcoming adversity and building confidence.
